How to safely repair a PC monitor

Simple - Don't Do It!!!!!!

Monitors are capable of holding a lethal amount of electricity for long periods of time - days and even weeks. This charge sits inside in waiting for the device to be turned on or for an unsuspecting person to come along and get zapped by it. Special equipment is needed to safely discharge this stored electricity.

If you have a monitor that has a problem (such as not working) then check that all the cables are attached and that the monitor is receiving power. If it's still not working, try it on another system. If it's still not working, check your warranty (you might be able to return it), take it to a specialist repair center or replace it.
