Microsoft AntiSpyware build using Visual Basic 6?
July 23rd, 2005
Yesterday, The Register reported that an eagle-eyed observer had discovered that Microsoft AntiSpyware is built using Microsoft Visual Basic 6, a now unsupported development environment.
I thought that this sounded a little suspect so I fired up Dependency Walker and took a look for myself. Sure enough, there is it, MSVBVM60.dll - a VB6 runtime file!
Odd indeed using what Microsoft consider to be an obsolete development environment.HonorTagJournalistHonorTagProfessionalPC DoctorPC DoctorMicrosoft AntiSpywareVB6programmingSecurity
