Mystery Second Life problem …

Here's a mysterious issue that I came across the other day affecting Second Life.

Check out the appalling frame rate when using the standard Second Life viewer (version 1.20.15):

Averaging just under 10 frames per second. This was running with graphics detail set to medium. I also tried the latest release candidate ... no better.

Then, just for fun, I downloaded a viewer called OnRez (version Installed it and here's what I got:


Not only am I seeing 40+ frames per second, the graphics detail is set higher.

Beats me why there's such a difference, especially considering that OnRez is based on the code for the standard viewer.

Hmmmm ....
