AV-Test.org - The big antivirus roundup
May 23rd, 2007AV-Test.org has carried out a a massive test of current antivirus applications. The test pitted 29 products against 606,901 different kinds of malware – a pretty big test I’m sure you’ll agree.
The malware breakdown (which included malware up to the 18th May) was as follows:

68,864 backdoors

407,487 Trojan Horses

47,891 bots (zombies)
-
82,659 worms
Here are some of the most interesting results (note that the scanning for each of the products was set to the most aggressive setting available):

Best desktop product – WebWasher (which has a detection rate of 99.83%)

Worst product – Computer Associates eTrust-VET (62.12% detection rate)

Average detection rate was 86.95%
