Xbox power cord recall extended

June 10th, 2005

Previously Microsoft had stated that they only needed to issued new power cables to owners of older Xbox systems, but now it turns out that all Xbox systems bought before 14th January 2005 are affected.

To find out if you need to take action, make a note of the serial number on your system and check online.

As with the original safety recall earlier this year, customers are advised to turn off their Xbox when not in use to protect themselves from the potential fire hazard.
