Will users still be able to download Windows 98/ME updates?

July 8th, 2006

"Will old Windows 98 or Windows ME updates and patches still be available to download and install? For instance, if I have to reinstall Windows 98, will I be able to update it with patches and updates that MS has issued to date?"

After July 11th, Microsoft will no longer release security patches for Windows 98 and Windows ME.  However. Microsoft will continue to make all the patches and updates released up to that point available for download.

In fact, Windows 95 users can still download all the available patches for that dinosaur OS too!  Notice how few updates there were back then though compared to now ...
