CDs measured in minutes?
May 29th, 2006
"When I buy CDs I go by capacity - 650 or 700MB. However, I've noticed that many also list minutes on the pack. What's that all about?"
Take a look at the case/cover/pack of a recordable CD and along with a capacity measured in megabytes you might also see minutes also being mentioned - 650MB CDs labeled as 74 minute CDs and 700MB CDs listed as 80 minutes. This is a measure of how many minutes of music the CD would hold if it was burned as a standard audio CD rather than a data CD.
