Keep an eye out for IM threats

May 3rd, 2006

While you’re keeping one eye on web-based threats that are looking for a way into your digital kingdom, and another eye on email, make sure that you get a spare eye to keep a track of IM threats too (oh, and at the same time, keep an eye on your friends, colleagues, co-workers and family too – you don’t want them opening the drawbridge to the hoards!).

According to a report from anti-malware vendor Postini, IM threats increased 25% during April of this year.

Stay safe by watching out for unexpected files and links being sent to you.  Also, keep your IM application up-to-date to make sure that security vulnerabilities are patches.  And, as always, keep your antivirus application updated!
