Trouble for draft 802.11n standard

May 3rd, 2006

The new 802.11n standard for wireless networking gear has not passed the first ballot.  OK, not really big news since because revisions will be required.  However, this has lead to existing 802.11n vendor Airgo to criticizes existing pre-[tag]802.11n[/tag] products that have already shipped.  Expect a lot more in-fighting among vendors.

My advice still stands – unless you have money to throw away, wait for the 802.11n standard to mature before leaping on board.
