Gmail PDF viewer busts DRM
April 18th, 2006
News is circulating that the built-in PDF viewer that is available in Gmail allows PDF DRM restrictions (such as copy/paste restrictions) to be bypassed.
- Useful? Yes.
- Dodgy? Certainly.
- Likely to be patched soon? Probably not.
The same is true of PDFs cached by Google's search engine.
Note: This does not allow you to bypass Adobe Reader DRM for ebooks.
