Weekend Project: Portable USB charger

April 8th, 2006

Build a USB charger that works off a 9 volt battery.  This can be used to keep your iPod of PDA charged when on the move.  It's geeky and looks a bit Frankenstein but should do the job nicely.

You need a few parts and they are going to cost you a few bucks but you end up with a nice, portable solution that will keep you devices going for longer.  Replace the 9 volt alkaline battery with a rechargeable and this is going to cost you very little to run after the initial build.

Nice!
