Does Bill Gates have a PR advisor?

A comment made by Microsoft’s Bill Gates about the $100 laptop project has left me wondering whether the guy has a PR advisor, or if he does, whether his advisor is working for the other side.
A quote from Bill:
"If you are going to go have people share the computer, get a broadband connection and have somebody there who can help support the user, geez, get a decent computer where you can actually read the text and you're not sitting there cranking the thing while you're trying to type."
OK, I’m not hugely enthusiastic about the MIT’s $100 laptop project because I wonder what problem it is supposed to actually solve, but I’m left wondering what was going through Bill’s mind as he said this – it’s certainly comes across as a petty and arrogant comment.
