Disabling ClearType in Internet Explorer 7
March 7th, 2006
Microsoft has taken the decision to have ClearType font smoothing technology on as default in Internet Explorer 7 even if your Windows XP settings are set to off (the default will be for it to be on in Windows Vista).
However, this doesn't mean that you can't disable ClearType in IE7 - Click on Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. To turn ClearType off uncheck the Use ClearType box that appears in the Multimedia section.
